David Schmutz (GDS Equestrian Enterprises) has announced his retirement from production of Dressage competitions as of the end of December, 2014. “I want to thank the loyal clients and equestrian enthusiasts who have supported me both at Hansen Dam and Paddock Riding Club. It has been twenty-seven years of competition management and now seemed the right time to end a wonderful run,” said Mr. Schmutz.
For the past seven years. Mr. Schmutz was at Hansen Dam Equestrian Center, where he produced dressage shows. Prior to Hansen Dam Equestrian Center, he produced both Hunter/Jumper and Dressage competitions at Paddock Riding Club during his nearly twenty-year ownership of that facility, ending in 2006. During that period, three CDIs were produced under his direction between 1994-6, among the first in Southern California.
Mr. Schmutz has his “S” rating from USEF and will devote his time to national judging Dressage competitions. In addition, he will officiate in Para Equestrian competitions in the USA and abroad as an FEI 4* Para Judge. Finally, his availability for Dressage clinics will help fill his time.
“Dressage has been wonderful to me over the last many years. For this I am most grateful.”
